This paper studies the way Fernando el Católico understood and prepared a military expedition against Tunis, he wanted to command. The reactions to the call to fight on African soil. The reaction of Castilian towns to the King leaving the kingdom. And how Fernando gave up to do it when the war in Italy started again. We also discuss the dealings between the King and the Sultan of Fas in 1511.
