    Although the elements of a cosmology are scientific, this overall view of the universe and humanity transcends science. Building such an objective view of reality implies a thorough critique of reason. The author, mathematician and philosopher think, with Plato, that we have to decide for ourselves what we intend to do about our "solitude" so that "nothing will be lost."

    Bien que les éléments d’une cosmologie soient scientifiques, la vue de l’univers et de l’homme qu’elle propose va au-delà de la science. Construire une telle conception objective de la réalité implique une critique impitoyable de la raison. L’auteur, mathématicien philosophe, pense, comme Platon, que nous devons décider nous-mêmes ce que nous voulons faire de notre « solitude » de sorte que « rien ne soit perdu ».
