    La devoción a la Virgen de Guadalupe de Cáceres se genera en época medieval y se concreta a nivel iconográfico mediante una escultura que sufrirá transformaciones a lo largo de su historia. En el siglo XVI son grabados los que llevan la imagen y la devoción al continente americano, teniendo un enorme éxito en América del Sur. Cuestiones tratadas en la primera parte de este texto publicado en el número anterior. En esta segunda parte trataremos especificamente la labor de fray Diego de Ocaña, centrándonos tanto en el viaje como en la actividad pictórica que tuvo.

    The devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe of Caceres (Spain) started in medieval times; its iconography, particularly sculpture, will evolve throughout the centuries. During the 16th century, the devotion and iconography of the Virgin of Guadalupe traveled to America through engravings; the travel and work of fray Diego de Ocaña, who wrote his memories of the journey, helped to diffuse this devotion in South America, where quickly became indisputably popular. These subjects were addressed in the first part of this article, published in the previous number. Our aims in this article are to review the journey of Fray Diego de Ocaña and his pictorial work.
