    Este artículo versa sobre cómo la teoría Darviniana de la evolución, a través de la selección natural de las especies, está produciendo cambios en el mundo jurídico. Los juristas, están aplicando los recientes descubrimientos acerca de la proximidad genética entre el ser humano y los chimpancés, para reclamar la extensión de los derechos previstos para los seres humanos a los grandes primates, como los chimpancés, bonobús, gorilas y orangutanes. En este sentido, muchos activistas por los derechos de los Animales emplean la controversia jurídica como una estrategia esencial, bien para extraer nuevos significados a instituciones como el Habeas Corpus, usado hasta ahora únicamente como salvaguarda de la libertad del ser humano, bien para reforzar el movimiento animalista y con ello reforzar la concienciación de la gente, sobre lo importante que es el reconocimiento de derechos básicos a los Animales.

    This essay demonstrate how Darwinian theory of evolution by natural selection has caused changes in the legal world, in order that lawyers are using the recent discoveries about how similar genetic between man and chimpanzees to claim extension of human rights for the great primates, that is, chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orangs. It also that many activists for animal rights have considered the dispute an important strategy, whether to set new means for legal institutes such as the Habeas Corpus, hitherto used only to ensure human freedom, whether to increase the movement and increase the conscietization of the general population about the importance of the recognition of animals as holders of basic rights.
