  • Resumen
    • Klein examines the increasing sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Figures for 2017 show rates of syphilis, gonorrhoea and chlamydia in Australia as the highest they have been since national recording began in the 1990s, while in England and the U.S., rates of these STIs have been climbing over the last decade. Rebecca Guy at the University of New South Wales in Australia notes the lack of more testing, particularly for chlamydia, as one factor in the resurgence, while Nigel Field at the University College London points the popularity of dating apps like Tinder and Grindr, which makes it easier to hook up with more people. A large study by Field and his colleagues found that men in the UK who used online dating services were six times more likely to have had sex with five or more people in the previous year
