Peter Hintz from the University of California-Berkeley and his colleagues found that determinism, the idea that the past dictates the future, ends inside certain types of black holes. They suggest that a person may be able to survive a trip there, citing every black hole has an event horizon, the boundary beyond which nothing can escape, and an electric charge containing another boundary within the event horizon called the Cauchy horizon
