It critiques the article "Notes From the Underground: Why the History of Economic Geography Matters: The Case of Central Place Theory" by Trevor J. Barnes. According to the author, Barnes' article does not fully explain the rise of theoretical quantitative geography. The author also critiques the role of theory in geographic scholarship.
