El impacto de las TICs en el imaginario urbano: Nuevas herramientas digitales en la dialéctica territorio líquido vs ciudad tradicional

    Las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TICs) son infraestructuras que han facilitado la transformación urbana hacia el territorio líquido, pero también se han convertido en la actualidad en nuevas herramientas capaces de construir imaginarios. Desde su soporte virtual facilitan la generación, recolección, interpretación, puesta en valor y difusión de identidades colectivas, gracias a la facilidad con la que permiten compartir, interactuar, intercambiar, geolocalizar y conectar en tiempo real al usuario con el territorio. El artículo presenta una comparativa de tres escenarios que interactúan en el territorio líquido de la Costa del Sol (Málaga): los del ciudadano, el turista y el residente extranjero; y analiza el impacto de los nuevos instrumentos digitales para la definición –invención en algunos casos–, recuperación y dialéctica de sus imaginarios urbanos. Los resultados muestran dos tendencias actuales: por un lado, la turistificación de los centros históricos que, desde una posición institucional y ligada a los actores económicos, desarrolla la creación de iconos y experiencias prediseñadas para el turista, donde las iniciativas subversivas –bottom-up- tratan de defender la memoria y espacio de lo cotidiano. Por otro lado, la residencialización diferenciada de escenarios turísticos por el residente extranjero con una segregación física, simbólica y lingüística de sus comunidades, donde las iniciativas institucionales top-down tratan de proteger la identidad perdida. Las nuevas herramientas TICs son ya, responsables de mutar el territorio de “lo urbano” en un sistema de referencia físico, pero también mental y virtual, a través de la generación de redes inmateriales, incidiendo así en el devenir de la memoria, el recuerdo y el patrimonio del territorio líquido donde confluyen espacios y modos variados de habitar.

    Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are infrastructures that have facilitated the urban transformation toward the liquid territory, but they have also become, at the present time, new tools capable of constructing imaginaries. From their virtual support they facilitate the generation, collection, interpretation, valorization and diffusion of collective identities, thanks to the ease with which they allow to share, interact, exchange, geolocalize and connect in real time the user to the territory. The article presents a comparison of three scenarios that interact in the liquid territory of the Costa del Sol (Malaga) - those of the citizen, the tourist and the foreign resident- and analyzes the impact of the new digital instruments for the definition –invention in some cases– recovery and dialectic of their urban imaginaries.

    The results show two current tendencies: on the one hand, the touristification of historical centers that, from an institutional position and linked to economic actors, develops the creation of icons and experiences "predesigned" for the tourist, where the subversive initiatives -bottom -up- try to defend the memory and space of everyday life. On the other hand, the differentiated residentialization of tourist scenarios by the foreign resident with a physical, symbolic and linguistic segregation of their communities, where top-down institutional initiatives try to protect the lost identity. The new ICT tools are already responsible for mutating the territory of "the urban" in a system of physical reference, but also mental and virtual, through the generation of immaterial networks, thus influencing the becoming of memory, remembrance and the heritage of the liquid territory where spaces and varied ways of inhabiting come together.
