  • Resumen
    • According to China Customs data, South Korea is one of China's top importers of rare earths, DBM and CCM. IM Correspondent Sunder Singh also takes a look at the glass industry in India and sees how a growing middle class is affecting domestic demand and discusses how local producers are seeking to meet this demand ( pp39-40 ). Trumpism has been a boom for some markets: oil and gas drilling is recovering slowly ( see p15 ) and Trump has pledged support for the fossil fuel industry. [...]while this is good news for oilfield mineral markets, such as barite (barytes), bentonite and the minerals used in hydraulic fracturing (fracking), it remains to be seen how it will affect minerals used to make solar panels (silica sand, borates, quartz), wind turbines (rare earths), and energy storage solutions (lithium, graphite).
