    La interacción es un concepto que puede caracterizar la Antigüedad tardía (siglos II-VIII). Un ejemplo elocuente es el acercamiento entre los bárbaros godos y la civilizada aristocracia romana fijada en los territorios del Imperio romano de Occidente desde comienzos del siglo V. Enmarcada por la confrontación, seguida de la amistad y alianza, la relación entre godos y romanos acabó por favorecer a los primeros en términos institucionales con la creación del regnum liderado por aquellos y la desaparición de la autoridad imperial occidental en las provincias romanas. Si el regnum gothorum Tolosanum tuvo una corta duración, su congénere hispano, el regnum gothorum Toletanum, empezó su existencia gracias a la confrontación y consecuente acercamiento entre los grupos aristocráticos godos e hispanorromanos que tuvieron en los reinados de Theudis (531- 548 †) y Leovigildo (569-586 †) los momentos más destacables del proceso de conformación y fortalecimiento de la monarquía hispanogoda de Toledo en el siglo VI.

    Interaction is a characteristic concept of Late Antiquity (II-VIII centuries). A prime example is the rapprochement between the Gothic barbarians and the civilized Roman aristocracy established in the territories of the Western Roman Empire since the beginning of the fifth century. Framed by conflict, followed by friendship and alliance, the relationship between Goths and Romans eventually favoured the former in institutional terms, with the creation of the regnum led by the latter, and the demise of Western imperial authority in the Roman provinces. If the regnum gothorum Tolosanum was short-lived, its Hispanic equivalent, the regnum gothorum Toletanum, began its existencethanks to the confrontation and subsequent rapprochement between Goths and Hispano-Roman aristocratic groups that enjoyed on the reigns of Theudis (531-548 †) and Leovigildo (569-586 †) the most notable moments of the process of conformation and strengthening of the Hispano-Visigothic monarchy of Toledo in the sixth century.
