A partir de l’examen dels informes de FET y de las JONS de diverses localitats valencianes, podem fer un retrat de la cinquena columna, llurs membres en gran quantitat coparen els llocs claus del partit únic al País Valencià. Si bé és cert que la immensa majoria dels seus membres passaren la contesa amb més pena que glòria, i adaptant-se a les circumstàncies, també és cert que va tractar-se, en general, d’un col·lectiu que pogué esquivar relativament els perills gràcies al tracte rebut pels seus enemics, degut a l’enorme desunió existent entre les diferents organitzacions polítiques i sindicals. Una vegada acabada la guerra, els cinquenacolumnistes valencians s’afanyaren per tal de polir i fer brillar un passat que no va tindre molt d’heroic, magnificant tant la seua actuació —inventada com si no— com els efectes de la mateixa.

From the analysis of the reports made by FET y de las JONS (Traditionalist Spanish Phalanx of the Committees of the National Syndicalist Offensive by its Spanish acronym), a depiction of the fifth column can be make, whose members occupied mainly the key role of the only party in the Valencian Country. Most of its members struggled in the conflict more than overcoming it with glory and adapting to its circumstances. Nevertheless, it is also true that, generally, this group was able to avoid the hazards thanks to the treatment from their enemies due to the enormous disunion between different political and syndical organizations. Finished the war, the Valencian fifth-columnists hastened to polish and make shine a past which was not that heroic, magnifying their action —invented or not— as well as the effects of the said.
