Some tests that reveal genetic trivia sell for as little as $29, although typical prices are between $100 and $200 if one wants more detail, with similar costs outside the US. But the companies selling these kits stand to gain a good deal more. Their vast, growing databases of genetic information are hugely valuable to researchers and pharmaceutical companies.
