    This communication analyses to what extent prospection in the old language allows us to fix the verbal regime of our current legal and administrative language. It addresses, broadly speaking, the criteria to be applied when deciding whether old Catalan should be resorted to, and which criteria are suitable after it has been ascertained that a prospection may be useful.

    The body of work analyses specific cases in which the current legal language does not match the old language. An initial, more general section, focuses on a few verbs that have a grammatical structure that does not match that of the DIEC. The second section analyses the variations occurring in certain verbal constructions related to penalties over the years. Finally, it analyses three practical cases in which hesitancy was detected in the verbal system.

    Aquesta comunicació analitza fins a quin punt les prospeccions en la llengua antiga permeten ajudar a fixar el règim verbal del llenguatge juridicoadministratiu actual. Comenta, a grans trets, quins són els criteris que cal seguir a l’hora de decidir si cal recórrer al català antic i també quins són els adequats un cop s’ha comprovat que una prospecció pot ser útil.

    El cos del treball analitza casos puntuals en què el llenguatge jurídic actual no coincideix amb la llengua antiga. Un primer apartat, més general, se centra en uns quants verbs que tenen una estructura gramatical que no coincideix amb la que recull el DIEC. El segon apartat analitza les variacions que, al llarg dels anys, han patit algunes construccions verbals referides a penes. Finalment, aprofundeix en tres casos pràctics en què s’ha detectat vacil·lació en el règim verbal.
