Resumen de Perspectivas para una antropologia das imagens

  The image is a story of all time. Reflect on the images is faced with the multiple meanings of the concept of image, with the media historically determined - the body as medium and the process of technological mediation, with the increasing inseparability of images and sounds: voices, images, sound, soundscapes - with practices developed throughout the history of the technology of sound and image, with the profound changes wrought by digital technologies and the practices of anthropology - field work and the writings of anthropology (construction of speech) and consequently with the theoretical, ethical and epistemological arising from its use. The questions that we believe to be necessary in the study of the images are not the dichotomy between external images and internal images, but the interaction between what we see and what we imagine or remember that the relationship between perception and production of images as two sides of a coin. Because these are the two issues - the interaction between external and internal images, between mental images and materials, and the connection between perception and production of images that define the practice of using images and sounds in anthropology and we intend to explore in this paper.

  A imagem é uma história de todos os tempos. Reflectir sobre as imagens é confrontar-se com os múltiplos sentidos do conceito de imagem, com os media historicamente determinados - o corpo como medium e os processo de mediação tecnológica, com a cada vez maior inseparabilidade entre imagens e sonoridades:

  vozes, imagens sonoras, paisagens sonoras - com as práticas desenvolvidas ao longo da história das tecnologias do som e da imagem, com as profundas mudanças introduzidas pelas tecnologias digitais e com as práticas da antropologia – trabalho de campo e as escritas da antropologia (construção do discurso) e consequentemente com as questões teóricas, éticas e epistemológicas decorrentes da sua utilização. As perguntas que se nos afiguram necessárias no estudo das imagens não são o dualismo entre imagens externas e imagens internas, mas a interacção entre o que vemos e o que imaginamos ou o que recordamos e a relação entre a percepção e a produção das imagens como duas faces de uma mesma moeda. São pois estas as duas questões - a interacção entre imagens internas e externas, entre imagens mentais e materiais e a ligação entre a percepção e produção das imagens, que definem a prática de utilização das imagens e dos sons em antropologia e que pretendemos explorar nesta comunicação.
