Informe sobre las Jornadas Lingüísticas celebradas en el Departamento de Idiomas de la Academia General Militar (AGM) de Zaragoza entre los días 13 y 15 de Junio de 2012 como ejercicio final de ciclo en el idioma inglés para los alféreces de tercer curso de Educación Superior. El objetivo era la aplicación de aprendizaje no formal e informal para completar las cuatro destrezas lingüísticas según el documento NATO STANAG 6001. El cine bélico se presenta como una herramienta ideal para conseguir que los alumnos de la AGM desarrollen su visión de la profesión militar en torno al tema del liderazgo, su conocimiento de la Historia Militar en diferentes épocas, su cultura cinematográfica como medio para ampliar su visión del mundo y, por supuesto, su conocimiento del inglés específico militar en el contexto profesional.

This is a report about the Linguistic Sessions held in the Department of Foreign Languages in the General Military Academy in Zaragoza between 13th and 15th June, 2012 as their English final exercise for the second-lieutenants in their third year of tertiary education. The main objective was the implementation of a non-formal as well as informal learning to develop the four major linguistic skills regarding the NATO STANAG 6001 document. War films can be considered as an ideal tool to make the students from the Academia General Militar develop their vision of the military profession in relation with leadership, their knowledge of Military History during different periods, their cinematic culture as a means to widen their appreciation of the world as a whole, and mainly, their knowledge of English for specific Purposes (in this case military English) in a professional context.
