    La narrativa chilena reciente se ha acercado a los espacios estudiantiles para reconstruir la memoria individual y colectiva desde las aulas escolares. Este interés no es fortuito; en las últimas décadas la Universidad chilena se desplazó de epicentro de la crítica político-social a foco de la represión militar para desembocar finalmente en un bien mercantil en una economía liberal desideologizada. Estos momentos se corresponden con la efímera empresa socialista de la década del setenta, el largo gobierno militar de los ochenta, y la ulterior reforma económica de los noventa enmarcada en el advenimiento de la democracia A partir de un análisis de las novelas Santiago cero de Carlos Franz y La burla del tiempo de Mauricio Electorat, este trabajo supone una reflexión sobre la memoria reciente chilena y el rol político de la Universidad desde tres ángulos diferentes: el registro confesional, la falsificación de un conjunto de cartas y la admisión de discursos prestados.

    Recent Chilean narratives have been written from the perspective of student life in order to reconstruct both individual and collective memory from the classroom. This interest did not occur by chance. In recent history, Chilean universities have moved from the epicenter of socio-political criticism to focus on a military repression which finally led to a liberal, non-ideological economy. This development corresponds with the fleeting socialist experiment of the 1970's, the long reign of the military government of the 1980's, and the subsequent economic reform of the 1990's that set up the arrival of democracy. From an analysis of the novel Santiago cero, by Carlos Franz, and the novel La burla del tiempo (The Mockery of Time), by Mauricio Electorat, this article reflects upon recent Chilean history and the political role of the university from three different angles: the register of confessions, the forgery of a collection of letters, and the admission of guilt concerning borrowed speeches.
