Resumen de What's not to like?

Timothy Revell

  • Facebook knows more about you than you might think. A study has for the first time revealed the scale of its data gathering, suggesting that the social media company has deduced sensitive information about 40% of all EU citizens. By looking at what you click and the pages you like, Facebook can infer your sexual orientation, religion and political leanings, then use this information to target you with adverts. It has long been known that Facebook profiles its users in this way, but the process is hidden. Now Angel Cuevas Rumin at Charles III University of Madrid, Spain, and his colleagues have shed some light on the practice. That matters, because the EU is increasingly cracking down on profiling
