It also found that 64% of UK adults couldn't tell fake news apart on such sites, while 63% said the likes of Facebook aren't transparent enough. It is a similar picture in the US. That is a damning verdict. And yet social media is a mainstay in most lives--in the UK, 76% of adults use social media and spend almost 3 hours a day on average consuming it. That is a lot of time engaging with platforms we don't trust
