  • Resumen
    • Some birds of prey have learned to control fire, a skill people thought was unique to humans. They seem to intentionally spread wildfires to flush out prey. The finding hints that raptors beat them to the use of fire. There are many stories about Australian birds of prey wielding fire, says ornithologist Bob Gosford at the Central Land Council in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Most come from Aboriginal rangers managing natural fires in the northern tropical savannah. The three species mentioned are black kites, whistling kites and brown falcons
