La monarquía fue determinante en la conformación política de la Europa contemporánea.
Su permanencia en las revoluciones liberales hizo necesario crearle un “traje constitucional” que pudiera adaptarse a sus características. Éste fue el gobierno parlamentario que diferenció desde entonces a América, presidencialista, de Europa, parlamentaria. La posición del rey quedó establecida por la Constitución y la doctrina, pero la monarquía tuvo que irse adaptando lentamente también en su funcionamiento interno a su nueva posición en el Estado Contemporáneo, en el que dejaba de disponer de potestas pero disponía de auctoritas, con un poder simbólico asociado a la nación que exigía una extremada pulcritud en sus comportamientos y relaciones. De este modo, se hacía necesario limitar el alcance de la red de influencias palaciegas que rodeaba a la corona.

The monarchy was determinant in the political conformation of the contemporary Europe.
His permanency in the liberal revolutions did necessarily to create a "constitutional suit" that one could adapt to his characteristics. This one was the parliamentary government that separated since then America, whit Presidencial System, from Europe, whit Parliamentary System.
The position of the king remained established by the Constitution and the doctrine, but the monarchy had to go away adapting slowly also in his internal live to his new position in the Contemporary State, in which it was stopping having of potestas but having of auctoritas, with a symbolic power associated with the nation that was demanding an extreme tidiness in his behaviors and relations. Thus, it was becoming necessary to limit the scope of the network of court influences surrounding the crown.
