  ResumenEl objetivo de este estudio es determinar el efecto de la estimación sobre la conceptualización del área.Se aplicó un diseño cuasi-experimental, con grupo, antes y después, con grupo control no equivalente. Los sujetos fueron alumnos de tercer semestre de Administración de Empresas y Negocios Internacionales, con edades comprendidas entre los 17 y 22 años, de ambos géneros.La metodología tiene como fundamento estimar áreas con cuadrículas de regiones que están bajo una curva, teniendo como pretexto el estudio de la integral definida.Se encontró que aunque no hay diferencia significativa en los puntajes entre el grupo control y el grupo experimental en el post-test, la metodología influyó significativamente en la conceptualización del área en los alumnos del grupo experimental, ya que se encontró diferencia significativa al comparar la diferencia intra grupo entre el grupo experimental y el grupo control.

  AbstractThe objective of this study is to determine the effect of estimation on the conceptualization of the area.Applying a quasi-experimental, with a group before and after, with non-equivalent control group. The people were students of third semester of Business Administration and International Business, aged between 17 and 22 years, of both genders.The methodology is based on the estimation wit grid areas of regions that are under a curve, taking as a pretext the study of definite integral.We found that although there is no significant difference in scores between the control group and experimental group on post-test, the methodology influenced significantly in the conceptualization of the area on the learner of the experimental group, because significant differences were found when comparing the intra-group difference between the experimental group and the control
