  • Resumen
    • Francis Egan, Cuadrilla CEO, said: "We are very pleased that we can now move ahead with our shale gas exploration plans which will start to create new economic growth opportunities and jobs for people in Lancashire and the UK." [Marcus Johnstone] described the case as "one of the biggest planning applications ever put before any council" and said that while "it is clear that the government supports the development of a shale gas industry" he called on them to do more to address the concerns of local communities.

API's statistics department director, Hazem Arafa, said in a statement that the figures indicate "that the consistent decline in oil and natural gas drilling could be coming to an end".
