  • "I don't think prices this low help anyone," said one distributor. "At a cost of production of $17-23/kg, at prices of $20/kg [producers are] losing money." "In our dreams we see it going up next year," the second producer said, suggesting that while supply should remain stable - "we are not considering anyone to go out of business" - demand may pick up somewhat - "biocides are coming back".

    "Against a background of increasing pigment demand, destocking in the industry has run its course," another producer added, noting increased sales in TiO[subscript]2 feedstocks. "The capacity utilisation of pigment plants is also up year-on-year."
