The first breeding record of the red-rumped swallow in the Balearic Islands was confirmed with the discovery of an occupied nest in the summer of 2007 at the Mallorcan locality of Port of Andratx. For two weeks of July, the pair was observed and photographed entering the nest, and leaving it carrying faecal sacks.
