Resumen de Confirmación de la nidificación del ánade azulón Anas platyrhynchos en la isla de Formentera

Breeding was confirmed in 2005 of Anas platyrhynchos on the island of Formentera, with the discovery of two pairs in the former saltpansystem of Estany Pudent. The bibliography gives no mention of breeding by the Mallard on Formentera, its status on the isle being a common winter visitor.
The only previous breeding reference was of an occurrence designated as probable in 2003. It has been a breeding species on the neighbouring island of Ibiza since 1998.
