Resumen de The fire-eater's island

Fred Pearce

  • In November of 1963, a fissure opened in the bed of the Atlantic Ocean, about 30 kilometers south of Iceland. Red-hot magma rushed up through the crack in the Earth's crust, and icy cold ocean water poured down into it. Eventually an island formed and solidified above the waves before the eyes of an astonished world. Here, Pearce highlights Surtsey, the world's youngest island.
