The Common Woodpigeon Columba palumbus was considered to be accidental on the Island of Formentera; diverse observations during the year 2001 have proven its presence throughout the year in different places of the Island and there is also evidence of breeding in two villages — la Mola and cap de Barbaria. Therefore, the proposed status for this species is moderate sedentary.
