  • Resumen
    • Sierra Rutile's average sales price for rutile in 2015 was 3% down to $775/tonne. [John Sisay] said he expects "a similar price profile" for the TiO[subscript]2 feedstock this year.

"In Q3 last year, the pigment industry [announced] capacity reductions," Sisay said. "[That] will translate this year into normalised inventory levels. I believe this would give us a chance to start increasing prices as we move into the second half of the year." "We intend to retire the dredge mining from 2018, and from then on we'll be exclusively a dry mining operation," said Sisay. "We'll upgrade existing dry mines and we'll build new ones. Post 2018, we'll have multiple dry mining operations that we can turn on and off to flex with market demand."
