  Los índices de violencia e inseguridad en Lima-Perú, son el tema de mayor preocupación de los ciudadanos. El objetivo del estudio, fue analizar las representaciones sociales respecto a la inseguridad ciudadana que viven los estudiantes de universidades de Lima.Los referentes del estudio son Moscovici (1979) ampliado por Jodelet (1984). El estudio tuvo enfoque cualitativo, con diseño fenomenológico. La muestra estuvo conformada por estudiantes de universidades estatales y particulares aplicándoseles entrevista semiestructurada. Se concluye que el miedo, la vulnerabilidad y el proceso de victimización, ha expuesto a estudiantes hacia el cambio de actitudes, estando en constante alerta a lo que ocurre a su alrededor.

  The rates of violence and insecurity in Lima-Peru, are the issue of greatest concern for citizens. The objective of the study was to analyze the social representations regarding the citizen insecurity that the students of universities of Lima live. The referents of the study are Moscovici (1979) extended by Jodelet (1984). The study had a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological design. The sample consists of students from state and private universities applying semistructured interview. It concludes that fear, vulnerability and the process of victimization has exposed students to changing attitudes, being constantly alert to what is happening around them.
