  • Resumen
    • For over 50 years, science educators have been calling for increased opportunities for students to engage with science in creative manners, but teachers are still reliant on packaged materials that promote single and ‘correct’ responses with cookbook approaches. This article suggests five strategies that teachers can use to enhance constructed experiences: (1) addition by subtraction; (2) use of a laboratory notebook; (3) deeper questioning; (4) advanced data analysis and display; and (5) identification of variables, constants, methods and-or hypothesis. Using the strategies, teachers can promote the deeper learning of science by their students and the use of critical and creative thinking necessary for development in their fields.
