Girant al voltant de la figura d'Emili Sagristà, capellà i professor al Seminari Conciliar de Sant Pere, es fa una descripció de la fundació al 1905 de l'observatori del Seminari de Mallorca, dels estudis científics dels seminaristes i de la comissió preparada per observar l'eclipsi del 30 d'agost de 1905. Finalment, es donen unes notes sobre la personalitat i l'obra d'Emili Sagristà.

Centered on Emili Sagristà, priest and professor at the Seminari Conciliar de Sant Pere, the foundation of the observatory of the Seminary of Majorca in 1905, the scientific studies of the seminarians and the commission organized to observed the eclipse of August 30, 1905 are described. At the end, the personality and the work by Emili Sagristà is briefly commented.
