    Este trabajo pretende describir los esfuerzos de vertebración de las organizaciones del Tercer Sector Social y el importante papel que estas entidades desarrollan como instrumentos de cohesión en la sociedad civil organizada. Se describen sus objetivos y se exponen los retos a que deberán hacer frente en el futuro para seguir desarrollando su labor como mediadores entre el Estado y el segmento de población más desfavorecido.

    This article is meant to describe the efforts to vertebrate the organization of the Third Social Sector. It also describes the important role that these entities develop as instruments of social cohesion in a well organized civil society. It goes into detail of the objectives proposed and the challenges that might face in the future to keep on developing their activity as social mediators between the Government and the most neglected populations.
