  • The article offers information on the textualization of Greek philosopher, Aristotle, to tragedy and treating performance as a language under the sign of writing. The resistance and power featured in Sophocles' play "Antigone" is mentioned. According to classics professor Page duBois, prizing performance over text positions a certain untranslatablity which is not the reason context ought not to regulate the scene of interpretation.
