Visión de las cubiertas naturadas desde un marco referencial.

    El presente artículo constituye el marco referencial de la tesis de maestría “Diseño de cubiertas naturadas extensivas en ciudad de La Habana”, que tiene como objeto de estudio este sistema a partir de canteros experimentales ubicados en el “Instituto Superior Politécnico José Antonio Echeverría”, ISPJAE, La Habana, Cuba. Para ello se examinó la documentación más reciente de las cubiertas verdes a nivel internacional y en el ámbito nacional. Las principales ventajas, de estos sistemas con naturaleza integrada, tales como la reducción de temperatura y la retención hídrica, son analizadas en el transcurso de la investigación. La autora emprende una evaluación de diseños precedentes que se ejecutaron desde el año 2003 en el área experimental, los cuales resultaron en general fallidos. Entre las dificultades encontradas se pueden mencionar la falta de mantenimiento, la no adecuación de los sustratos al tipo de plantas, así como la gran variedad de vegetación utilizada. Asimismo, se evalúa la situación del país en cuanto a los índices de áreas verdes, al incremento de las precipitaciones y las fluctuaciones de temperatura en el último año, factores que apoyan de manera positiva la implementación de las cubiertas naturadas en la ciudad a una mayor escala.

    This article constitutes the reference framework of the Master´s thesis “Design of green roof extensive in Havana City”, whose study object of this system starting from experimental stonemasons located at the Polytechnic Superior Institute José A. Hecheverría, ISPJAE, Havana, Cuba. For this, the latest documentation of the green roofs internationally and at national level was examinated. The main advantages of these systems with integrated nature, such as reduced temperature and the hydric retention, are analized in the course of investigation. The author undertakes and evaluation of precedent design that were implemented since 2003. In the experimental area, which were failed in general. Among the difficulties encountered can be mentioned the lack of maintenance, the non adaptation of the substrates to the type of plants as well as the great variety of vegetations used. Also the country´s situation is also evaluated as for the indexes of green areas, the increase of the precipitations and temperature fluctuations in the last year, factors that positively support the implementation of the green roof in the city to a bigger scale.
