    La historiografía ha demostrado que en las sociedades preindustriales el proceso de constitución de una nueva familia no solo llevaba aparejadas connotaciones de tipo biológico y social, sino también de orden económico y cultural. El estudio de los contratos matrimoniales otorgados ante notario por moriscos y cristianos viejos permite al autor analizar la configuración de las haciendas de los miembros de uno y otro colectivo. De igual manera, presta especial atención al análisis de la estructura y formación del ajuar femenino, pues es aquí donde se observan más diferencias en el plano cultural. Se pretende así poner de relieve la importancia del hogar como un espacio construido desde lo material, aspecto que en el caso de los moriscos conducirá a tratar tanto su proceso de adaptación a los usos sociales y culturales de los cristianos viejos como el mantenimiento de su herencia islámica.

    Authors have shown that, in the preindustrial society, the process of starting a new family did not only bring about biological and social changes but also economic and cultural ones. Basing his analysis on notarial documentation (specially in dowries and marriage settlements), the author studies the setting of the properties and possessions of Moriscos and Old-Christians in Castile during the XVIth and XVIIth centuries. In addition, the structure and formation of trousseau and personal assets (where cultural differences can be viewed as well) are also considered because they allow us to detect differences from a cultural approach between both groups. The main objective of this paper is to highlight the relevance of the household as a space that was built as a reflection of its owners, especially in the case of Moriscos, group in which it is necessary to recognize and to distinguish between the adaptation to the Old-Christian customs and the maintenance of the Islamic heritage.
