    Es preciso proteger a los consumidores de las infracciones reguladas en el Reglamento (UE) 2017/2394 incluso si ya han cesado pero cuyos efectos perjudiciales puedan continuar. Las autoridades competentes deben disponer de las facultades mínimas necesarias para investigar y ordenar el cese de tales infracciones o su prohibición en el futuro a fin de impedir que se repitan, y garantizar con ello un alto nivel de protección de los consumidores. Dichas autoridades deben disponer de un conjunto mínimo de facultades de investigación y ejecución con el fin de aplicar el citado Reglamento, cooperar entre sí de forma más rápida y eficiente y disuadir a los comerciantes de cometer infracciones reguladas en el mismo.

    Consumers should be protected against infringements covered b y t h e Regulation (EU) 2017/2394 on cooperation between national authorities responsible for the enforcement of consumer protection laws even if they have already ceased, but the harmful effects of which may continue.

    Competent authorities should have the necessary minimum powers to investigate and to order the cessation of such infringements or their prohibition in the future, in order to prevent them from being repeated, and in so doing, to ensure a high level of consumer protection. These authorities should have a minimum set of investigation and enforcement powers in order to apply the Regulation, to cooperate with each other more quickly and more efficiently and to deter traders from committing infringements covered by this Regulation.
