    • The article focuses on the role of Jewish historian Josephus in Catholic cardinal Robert Bellarmine supporting canonicity of the book of Esther. Topics discussed include the Council of Trent and Bellarmine rejecting notion of last chapters of the book not in Hebrew, Josephus considered as an authoritative witness by Bellarmine and Bellarmine using the book "Jewish Antiquities" by Josephus to prove the canonicity.
