La muyer nos cuentos tradicionales asturianos

    This article has its origin in the communication presented at the XXXV Xornaes Internacionales d’Estudiu (‘International Study Days’) organizad by the Asturian Language Academy and for this reason had a genesis of an oral nature. It aims and presenting a tour and organising a descriptive catalog of the characters or female «types» that appear in traditional Asturian tales, focusing on the models that are most repeated and on the physical and psychological characteristics that are attributed to these characters. Starting from the fact that the traditional literature is universal and that no «exclusive» differences are to be found for Asturian women, the Asturian environment is recognized among these characters, especially in everything related to the anthropological field: language, works, rites of passage, food, etc.

    Firstky considering wonderful of the humorous stories, two basic models of women appear: the protagonist of the magical stories, the antiprincess, is beautiful, honest and virtuous and solves with great skill the problems that arise. Meanwhile women who star in the realistic stories, almost always humorous, are loaded with pejorative attributes both physical and psychic: they are unfaithful, selfish and bossy, although most of the time, they are more clever than men. All examples have been taken from the main collections of stories published to this date in Asturies, from the Eugenio de Olavarría y Huarte’s Folk-lore de Proaza –signed with the pseudonym «L.Giner Arivau»– in 1886, to those written by Cabal, Llano and Canellada and finishing with the most modern ones, dated at the first years of this 21th century. Along with this, there is also an acknowledgement for the women who were transmitters of popular literature and collectors of the present.

    El presente artículu tien el so aniciu na comunicación fecha nes XXXV Xornaes Internacionales d’Estudiu de l’Academia de la Llingua Asturiana celebraes n’Uviéu en payares de 2016 y ye por ello que tuvo una xénesis dafechamente oral. Tenta de facer un percorríu y amañar un catálogu descriptivu de los personaxes o «tipos» femeninos qu’apaecen nos cuentos tradicionales asturianos, reparando nos modelos que más se repiten y nes característiques físiques y psicolóxiques que s’axudiquen a estos personaxes. Partiendo de que la lliteratura tradicional ye universal y de que yá se conoz d’antemano que nun se van topar diferencies «esclusives» pa les muyeres asturianes, sí se reconoz ente elles l’ambiente asturianu, sobre manera en tolo que cinca a la estaya antropolóxica: llingua, trabayos, ritos de pasu, alimentación, etc.

    Estremando primero cuentos maraviyosos de cuentos humorísticos, hai básicamente dos modelos de muyer: la protagonista de los relatos máxicos, la antiprincesa, ye guapa, honrada y virtuosa y resuelve con muncha habilidá los problemes que se-y planteguen, mientres que les muyeres que protagonicen los cuentos realistes, cuasi siempre humorísticos, tán cargaes d’atributos peyorativos tanto físicos como psíquicos:

    son infieles, egoístes y mandones, anque les más de les veces, más llistes que los homes. Tolos exemplos tán tomaos de les principales colecciones de cuentos publicaes hasta la fecha n’Asturies, dende’l Folk-lore de Proaza, d’Eugenio de Olavarría y Huarte –firmáu col nomatu de «L.Giner Arivau»– en 1886, pasando depués peles de Cabal, Llano y Canellada hasta llegar a les más modernes, de los primeros años del presente sieglu. Hai, amás, un recuerdu imprescindible pa les muyeres que fueron tresmisores de la lliteratura popular y un sitiu importante pa les muyeres recolectores d’anguaño.
