    La figura del adalid, prototipo de hombre de frontera, aventurero y líder militar, tuvo su presencia y protagonismo tanto en el ámbito musulmán como en el cristiano en donde sus atribuciones y competencias fueron establecidas por los distintos Fueros y compilaciones legislativas. Su presencia en Lorca se verá fomentada por la Corona desde el primer momento de la presencia castellana en la localidad, contando con significativos ejemplos a lo largo del siglo XIV que supusieron un elemento de vital importancia para el sostenimiento de la frontera.

    The figure of the adalid, man's prototype of border, adventurous and leading military man, had his presence and protagonism in the Moslem and in the Christian areas, where the attributions and competences were established by the different Jurisdictions and legislative compilations. The presence of these men of war was promoted by the Royalty from the first moment of the Castilian presence in the locality, relying on significant examples along the 14th century that they supposed an element of vital importance for the maintenance of the border
