Resumen de The Unmet Needs of Deaf Prisoners: A Survey of Prisons in England and Wales

Manjit Gahir, Susan O'Rourke, Brendon Monteiro, Rebecca G. Reed

  • There are limited data on the prevalence of deafness amongst prisoners and even less on their mental health problems. A survey of prisons and young offender institutions in England and Wales was carried out to ascertain the number of deaf and hard of hearing prisoners and to estimate what proportion may need a mental health assessment.
