    El Informe Mundial sobre las Drogas 2017 elaborado por UNODC expresa preocupación por el incremento y consumo de drogas que se produce en el mundo y la amenaza para la salud de la población, los efectos del narcotráfico en la economía mundial, así como la fuente de ingresos que supone para la financiación de las redes delictivas organizadas y del terrorismo a escala global. El texto concluye, no obstante, afirmando que puesto que el narcotráfico no es la única fuente de financiación de estos grupos, la reducción en la producción y tráfico de la droga no sería suficiente para cortarles los recursos. En cualquier caso, si se quiere hacer frente eficazmente a los retos planteados por las drogas, la colaboración entre países y el intercambio de información se hacen muy necesarios, tanto en los planos regional e interregional como en el internacional.

    The World Drug Report 2017 published by UNODC expresses concern about the increasing and consumption of drugs in the world and the threat to the health of the population, the effects of drug trafficking in the world economy, as well as the fact that this source of income is served to the financing of organized criminal networks and terrorism on a global scale. However, the text concludes stating that since drug trafficking is not the only source of funding for these groups, the reduction in drug production and trafficking would not be enough to cut off resources. In any case, if the challenges derived from drugs consuming are to be addressed effectively, collaboration between countries together with the exchange of information are necessary, both at the regional and interregional and international levels
