Una propuesta de turismo industrtial en Cantabria

    Cantabria cuenta con un patrimonio industrial de gran importancia, que bien gestionado podría convertirse en un producto turístico. Existen casos aislados que ya son verdaderos productos, pero hay otros ejemplos que están en malas condiciones y que necesitan ser rehabilitados para poder ofrecerlos al turismo. Otras veces, tan solo falta su puesta en valor, su difusión, ofrecer una información adecuada para que el visitante pueda acceder a su comprensión. Con algunos de estos recursos se pueden elaborar unas rutas de turismo industrial, otros no presentan un estado adecuado por estar incompletos como para elaborar una ruta, pero sí podrían ser incluidos en otras rutas de turismo cultural enriqueciéndolas (es el caso de las harineras del valle del Besaya, ruta rica en románico). Por tanto, en esta comunicación presentamos unas rutas de turismo industrial y otras en las que se pueden incluir recursos industriales.

    Cantabria has in this possession an industrial heritage of great importance, that handled in a correct way could be converted in to a tourist product. There are already some cases where real products exist, but there are still others that due to their bad condition need to be rehabilitated in order for them to be offered to the tourism sector. There are times where by just giving value, diffusion, or adding adequate information for the visitors ́ comprehension is the only thing needed. With some of these resources, one can map out industrial touristic routes, and those that aren ́t in a proper condition, can be included in other cultural touristic routes. (This is the case with the flour mills in the Besaya valley, a rich romanic route). Thus, in this paper we present some industrial touristic routes and others where industrial resources can be included.
