  • The opening of Tolsa's Wyoming bentonite business unit, along with the launch of Tolsa West Corp. in Lovelake, Nevada - a further unit also purchased late last year, which from November will produce a line of litter and pet products - mark Tolsa's long-planned entry into the US market.

    Marc Fields, Tolsa's US manager and chief operating officer, told IM that starting production at Casper represented "the beginning stages of more than two decades of planning by the senior management team of Tolsa to successfully kick off our North American strategy".

    Fields said that, following a capital investment of $11m, Tolsa's engineering, production and R&D teams are now operating and shipping bentonite products to numerous US clients from the Casper facility.
