  • China's Anhui Annada Titanium Co. Ltd made a net loss of Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 21m ($3m*) in the first half of 2015, kicking off a tide of H1 earning results which revealed mixed fortunes for the Chinese pigment chemicals industry. GPRO Titanium Industry Co. Ltd registered a turnover of Rmb 400.7m ($62.7m) for H1, of which rutile TiO[subscript]2 accounted for Rmb 234m ($37m) and anatase TiO[subscript]2-, Rmb 143.6m ($22.5m).

GPRO Titanium's production reached 37,800 tonnes TiO[subscript]2, while sales stood at 40,530 tonnes. The company plans to expand production by opening a pilot plant in Xuxhou. It will have a capacity of 80,000 tpa sulphuric acid-route TiO[subscript]2, and is projected to provide Rmb 114m ($17.9m) per annum.
