  • Romain Quidant is 32 years old. He is French but speak Spanish and Catalan far too well to have arrived in Barcelona in 2002, shortly after the Institute of Photonic Science of Barcelona (ICFO), where he works, was founded. According to Quidant, Lluís Torner, director of the Institute, convinced him to sign up for the project that had just got off the ground. He had four other tempting offers from major European research centers, but he came here and has never regretted it.
