La siguiente investigación educativa tiene como objetivo analizar las ideas previas y los prejuicios del alumnado de un Instituto de Educación Secundaria (IES) con respecto a África y a la historia del continente. Además, analizaremos los libros de texto que se utilizan en el instituto para demostrar que la imagen peyorativa y distorsionada de África, no sólo no se mejora, sino que se consolida entre el alumnado conforme avanza en los cursos de la ESO

The aim of this study is to analyze the prejudices and misconceptions of High school students regarding Africa and African history. Also, I will analyze one High school’s textbooks in order to show that the negative image of Africa portrayed is not improved by the texts. In fact, it worsens as the courses advance. I will focus on the lack of awareness regarding African history and how its negative image has stigmatized the continent and its populations
