La “lectura normalizante” del Concilio Vaticano II: El diálogo tradición-modernidad en la iglesia post-conciliar

    La celebración del Concilio Vaticano II se entendió como una puesta al día de la institución eclesial en relación a la modernidad. Sin embargo, no tardaron mucho en frustrarse las aspiraciones de los católicos más “aperturistas” imponiéndose desde la jerarquía lo que se entendió como una “lectura normalizante” del concilio. Con el objetivo de esbozar someramente las relaciones del catolicismo con la modernidad, dividiré el texto en tres partes con las que pretendo, primero, ofrecer un concepto fuerte de modernidad; segundo, y teniendo en cuenta el anterior concepto, explicar brevemente las relaciones del catolicismo con la modernidad en el periodo preconciliar; y, tercero, mostrar cómo también en el periodo postconciliar la relación entre catolicismo y modernidad siguió siendo conflictiva

    The celebration of the Second Vatican Council was understood as an update in the ecclesial institution with relation to modernity. Nevertheless, it was not long before the aspirations of the more "open-minded" Catholics were frustrated, when the hierarchy imposed what was understood as a "normalizing reading" of the council. With the aim of outlining Catholicism relations with modernity, I will divide the text into three parts where it is my intention, first, to offer a strong concept of modernity. Secondly, taking into account the previous concept, I will briefly explain the relations of Catholicism with modernity during the pre-conciliar period; and third, I would like to show how the relationship between Catholicism and modernity remained problematic in the post-conciliar period
