    Among the most recent advances in mountain medicine we note the improved understanding of hormonal reactions and the hydrosaline balance in mountain sickness; the definition of múltiple parameters that can determine in the laboratory if a climber is capable of withstanding high altitude hypoxia; the contribution of a new tympanic thermometer to determine central body temperature in hypothermia; the production of portable rewarming respiration equipment; the assembly and satlsfactory testing of the first portable equipment with hyperbaric chambers for first aid, and the introduction of epidermal neurostimulation techniques for the treatment of frostbite. In the report that follows, we will describe some of the most notable contributions of recent congresses on this subject: Davos Symposium (Switzerland, September 14-17), and the Mountain Medicine Conference in Fragüe (Czechoslovakia, October 20-22, 1988).     Dels avenços en medicina de muntanya mes recents destaquem un coneixement mes ampli de les reaccions hormonals i del balanç hidrosalí en el mal de muntanya, la definició de parámetres múltiples que poden determinar en el laboratori si un alpiniste és apte per a suportar la hipóxia de gran altura, l'aportació d'un nou termómetre timpánic per a determinar la temperatura central en la hipotermia, l'el.laboració d'aparells portátiis de rescalfament per aire inspirat, la construcció i la prova satisfactoria dels primers aparells portátils, com les cambres hiperbáriques en primers auxilis, i la introdúcció de la técnica de neuroestimulació epidural per al tractament de les congelacions. En el document que segueix descriurem algunes de les aportacions sobre aquest tema mes destacades dels darrers congressos: Simposi de Davos (SuYssa, 14-17 de setembre) i Conferencia de Medicina de Muntanya de Praga (Txecoslováquia, 20-22 d'octubre de 1988). Els sumaris d'aquests dos congressos poden ser consultats a la F.E.M. i al Servei General d'lnformació de Muntanya, o bé al mateix autor.
