Resumen de Simpecados antiguos de la Hermandad Matriz de Almonte

Poco se ha sabido hasta ahora de los orígenes y paradero de los antiguos Simpecados del Rocío de la Hermandad Matriz de Almonte. Con este trabajo intentamos aportar nuevos datos que hasta la actualidad han sido ignorados, sobre esta primitiva insignia, a la que se le daba su autoría en una fecha errónea. Su transformación experimentada a lo largo del tiempo nos ha obligado a adentrarnos en el cambio iconográfico que experimenta la Virgen del Rocío en el siglo XIX, con el uso de las ráfagas de rayos biselados y el traje denominado de los Montpensier.

Until now, little has been known about the origins and whereabouts of The First Brotherhood of Almonte's old banners for the Virgin of El Rocío. In this article we endeavor to present new information about this rustic banner, that, until now, has been ignored and to which an erroneous date of authorship had been assigned. The transformation through which it has gone over time has forced us to delve into the iconographic changes that the Virgin of El Rocío underwent in the 19th century, including the use of bursts of beveled rays of light and the garments from the Dukes of Montpensier.
