Ante la desaparición de la antigua capellanía de Baltasar Tercero por quiebra económica de las sucesivas desamortizaciones y que vinieron acompañadas de restricciones de las manifestaciones religiosas, el antiguo patrón de aquella capellanía, el Ayuntamiento de la villa, se convierte en el único administrador. Tanto de la Aldea, como del santuario y de la devoción de Ntra. Sra. del Rocío durante el siglo XIX, marcándose un punto de inflexión en este proceso a partir de 1850; que se consolida en los inicios del siglo XX, en los dos últimos apartados, cuando ya toma fuerza la Hermandad Matriz de Almonte, alcanzando su plena autonomía y dirigiendo plenamente la devoción rociera, la mayor manifestación mariana de la historia.

Because of the disappearance of the old Baltasar Tercero's chaplaincy due to the bankruptcy of the consecutives expropriations that came with restrictions on the religious manifestations, the old owner of that chaplaincy, the village's Council, turns into its only administrator of the village as well as of the sanctuary and the devotion of Our Lady of El Rocio during the XIX century, being this a turning point in this process from 1850 on and which becomes established at the beginning of the XX century, in the two last parts, when the Brotherhood Matriz of Almonte gathers strength, achieving total autonomy and directing the El Rocio's devotion, the biggest Marian manifestation in history.
